Provenance

Bought from the artist; by descent

Note: Park first studied in St. Ives with Julius Olsson in 1899 and then went to Paris to study at the Atelier Colarossi. He subsequently returned to St. Ives and remained there for much of his career specialising in scenes of West Country harbours. This early work, painted en plein air, has the close tonal control which was a characteristic of the early St. Ives painters and there is also a delight in the texture of oil paint.
