Provenance

Aquired by Marion Richardson from The Warren Gallery in 1927 following encouragement from Roger Fry; by descent

Note: Roger Fry was an early supporter of Dorothy Hepworth's talent (although led to believe that Patricia Preece was the artist).

Fry encouraged his friend Marion Richardson to acquire this painting from Dorothy Warren's Gallery in 1927. Fry was an important advocate of Richardson's groundbreaking methods in art education.
