Private collection

Note: John Bowen was born in Llanelli, Carmenthenshire. After attending Llanelli and Swansea Schools of Art he was a highly influential teacher at Llanelli School of Art, 1939-60, also at the Boys' Grammar School there apart from wartime service in the Royal Air Force. 

Bowen was influenced by John Minton, Graham Sutherland and the postwar neo-romantic movement in Britain.
