Note: The address on this headed paper is that of Lady Abdy.

 

Balthus completed a painting of Lady Abdy in 1935, to which this drawing appears related. The painting, which had also been in the collection of Iya Abdy, was sold at Christie’s, New York, in November 2015 for $9.9 million.
