This recently discovered drawing comes from
the vital series of nudes produced at Fitzroy Street in 1906
that led to La Hollandaise (Tate Gallery, London). Although
the disposition of the model's legs recalls La Hollandaise,
the bed is the brass bedstead (Le Lit de Cuivre,
see 250.1, p.311 in Wendy Baron's latest book). In handling
the drawing is close to the study Sally (Wendy Baron,252.1,
p.312) for La Hollandaise.
We are grateful to Dr. Wendy Baron for the above catalogue
notes.
