Maurice Lambert, RA (1901-1964)
was born in Paris and was apprenticed for five years from
the age of 17 to Francis Derwent Wood, RA. In 1930 he was
elected a member of the National Society of Painters, Sculptors,
Engravers and Potters and of the London Group. He produced
a range of experimental abstract and figurative pieces as
well as portrait busts and was elected a Royal Academician
in 1952.
